The Structure of a Good Presentation

Here are some tips on how to give that really good presentation.

I use the same structure every time and this is what it looks like. I would always start with a strong introduction. You really want to wow the audience and get their attention so maybe it’s a rhetorical question, maybe it’s a statement, maybe it’s a joke, whatever you want – you want to put the audience at ease and grab their attention.

From there, you move into your opening. This is where you set the frame of what the presentation is going to be about you effectively tell them what you’re going to tell them, so it might be three points – I’m here today to talk about a, b and c and explain to you why it’s important. From there you move into the body. The body is the core of what we’re talking about so if you’re giving maybe a 15-minute presentation, this should be 10-11minutes worth in the body and that body is composed of those same three components part a, part b and part c.

Once you finish that, it’s a close or a summary of what we’ve talked about. You can say you tell them what you’ve just told them – points one, two and three in dot point form. Finally, a strong call to action of what you want them to do. Do you want them to call you? Do you want them to buy your book? Do you want them to ring your number?

That is presentations 101 and if you’d like to know more, please reach out via info@moyleen.com or book a free consult: https://moyleen.com/calendar/.
